    The Bitter End

    1961

Opened in 1961 as a no-alcohol showcase; Peter, Paul and Mary made their debut here that year, and Carly Simon was among those who played it in the ’60s and ’70s. In the summer of 1975 late-night jams with Bob Dylan, Patti Smith, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott and Bobby Neuwirth set the stage for the Rolling Thunder Revue, per NYC Tourism.
